1. Inner metropolitan: located in a capital city and comprising well-established, built-up suburbs.
2. Outer metropolitan: located in capital cities and containing areas of more recent urban expansion.
3. Provincial: divisions with a majority of enrolment in major provincial cities.
4. Rural: divisions without a majority of enrolment in major provincial cities.
5. Where a winning party receives less than 56% of the vote, the seat is classified as 'marginal', 56-60% is classified as 'fairly safe' and more than 60% is considered 'safe'.
6. The turnout figure provided in the results screens is based on eligible electors and is calculated as the number of votes counted as a percentage of the election enrolment.
